思齋 金正國 만시의 미의식

Abstract

This thesis examines the aesthetic consciousness of Mansi(輓詩), written by Sajae Kim Jeong-guk, a civil minister and Neo-Confucianism scholar in the early Joseon Dynasty. Sajae created 31 Mansis, included in his collection of writings, Sajaejip(『思齋集』). This study summarizes this Mansi and examines its aesthetic consciousness. By examining the aesthetic consciousness of Sajae Kim Jeong-guk’s Mansi, several literary quotations were first appropriately cited in one work to express mourning for the deceased. Second, he expressed the sorrow of losing his grandson by using plain poetic words without writing literary quotations and esoteric words so that his young grandson could understand them easily. Third, by vividly depicting the sad scene with audible and visual poetic words, Mansi revealed the sadness of the child, the husband, the author’s pain, and the sadness and longing for the loss of a friend. Fourth, in Jamansi(自挽詩), through the Pum-gyuk of OnyuDonhu(溫柔敦厚) and reverent(勁健), mourned one’s death and expressed his willingness to live in integrity until death. Through the above aesthetic consciousness, a poet with a warm heart, Sajae sincerely expressed his condolences for the dead.
