본 연구의 목적은 아동의 가정환경 중 월 소득이 창의적 가정환경을 매개로 학업성취에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하는데 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 4학년과 6학년의 남․여학생에게 창의적 가정환경 검사와 창의적 산물 검사를 실시하였고 국어, 영어, 수학, 음악과 미술과목의 학업성취도를 조사하였다. 또한 그들의 부모를 대상으로 가정환경 진단 검사 중 사회경제적 변인에 관한 질문을 실시하였다. 응답 자료를 토대로 Perason 적률상관분석과, 일원변량분석, Barron과 Kenney(1986)의 매개효과분석을 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가정의 월 소득은 창의적 가정환경과 학업성취 중 국어, 영어, 수학 성적과만 유의한 정적상관을 보였다. 미술, 음악 성적과 창의적 산물은 월소득과 유의한 상관을 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 창의적 가정환경은 학업성취 중 수학과 미술 성적과 유의한 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 창의적 산물은 어떠한 과목의 학업성적과도 유의한 상관이 없었다. 마지막으로 가정의 월소득은 창의적 가정환경을 매개로 수학과목에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study aims to study the relationships between family income, children's creativity and academic achievement. One hundred twenty-two elementary school students participated in this study. They took tests of creative environment and creative product. We examined their academic achievement scores (Korean, English, mathematics. music and art). Also their parents responded to the questionnaire on socio-economic environment. We analysed the data through Pearson correlation, one way ANOVA and Barron & Kenny's mediation model by using SPSS 14.0. The results are as follows. First, there are significant correlations between family income and creative environment. There are also significant correlations between family income and academic achievement(literature, english, mathematics scores). Second, there are significants correlations between creative environment and academic achievement of mathematics and arts. Third, there are no significants correlation between creative product and academic achievement. Finally, family income influences mathematics score through creative family environment.
