초등학생의 창의성 발달 경향성 분석: 확산적 사고, 창의적 인성, 창의적 효능감을 중심으로

초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 성별 및 학년의 차이에 따른 창의성(확산적 사고, 창의적 인성, 창의적 효능감)의 발달 경향성을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재 2개 초등학교의 1-6학년 1,279명을 대상으로 TTCT, KEDI 창의적 인성 검사, 창의적 효능감 검사를 실시하였다. 성별에 따른 초등학생의 창의성 발달 경향성을 살펴본 결과, 남학생과 여학생은 슬럼프와 정점이 존재하는 유사한 비선형적인 발달 패턴을 보였다. 그러나 성별에 따른 창의성 및 하위요인의 세부적인 발달 모습은 일부 상이하고 비동시적인 모습이 나타나기도 하였다. 확산적 사고에서 남학생은 4학년 시기에 가장 높은 점수를 보였고, 2학년과 5학년, 6학년 때 점수가 완만하게 하강하는 기울어진 S자 형태에 가까운 발달 곡선을 나타냈고, 여학생은 4학년, 6학년 시기에 점수가 높고 2학년, 5학년에서 점수 하강이 나타나는 W자 형태에 가까운 모습을 보였다. 창의적 인성에서는 남녀 학생 집단 모두에서 2학년과 5학년을 기점으로 창의적 인성 총점이 하강하는 것으로 나타나 W자와 유사한 패턴이 나타났다. 흥미롭게도 6학년 여학생의 확산적 사고 점수가 남학생보다 유의하게 높음에도 불구하고 창의적 효능감에서는 남학생에 비해 여학생이 유의하게 낮은 결과가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 초등학생들의 창의성의 이해와 계발 측면에서 심도 깊게 논의되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine developmental trends of creativity in the aspects of divergent thinking, creative personality and creative efficacy in the elementary school boys and girls. For the study, 1,279 1st through 6th grade students(boy 630, girl 649) from the 2 elementary schools in a metropolitan area participated. TTCT, KEDI Creative Personality Scale, and Beghetto's Creative Efficacy test were carried out. The results of the study indicate that both groups of elementary school boys and girls showed similar nonlinear developmental pattern which has slump and climax. But the developmental trends of the diverse creativity tests utilized in the study and their sub variables showed a little different non-simultaneous patterns. Interestingly, girls showed significant higher scores than boys in the divergent thinking test, however girls also showed significant lower scores in the creative efficacy than boys. The implications of the study were discussed in depth in regards of developing creativity in children.
