Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing classification of latent profiles based on primary students’ creativity profile and to explore differences in peer relations. Data collected from The 10th Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC) was used and a total of 1,434 students were included in the analysis. Result showed that three latent profiles of creativity for third-graders were identified. Each group were named as low creativity, high originality, and high sensitivity. It was found that peer support had a significant effect on the classification of latent classes. In addition, there were differences in peer relations according to the classified latent classes. Specifically, the high-originality group perceived that they communicated well with their peers, but at the same time they felt loneliness among their peers. The high sensitivity group perceived high levels of trust with, communication and low levels of alienation from peers. These findings highlight the crucial roles of peer support for promoting creativity of primary students.
