본 연구의 목적은 예비특수교육 교사들이 인식하는 특수교육 교사 리더의 자질과 역할을 알아보는 것이다. 연구참여자는 K대학 4학년 학생 17명으로, 4주간의 교육실습 기간 동안 특수교육 교사 리더십을 주제로 반성적 저널을 작성하였다. 수집된 자료를 주제별 약호화한 다음 예비 범주를 만들고 이에 대해 논의와 합의를 거쳐 최종 범주를 확정하였다. 연구결과 교육실습 과정에서의 경험을 통해 예비특수교육 교사들은 특수교육 교사 리더는 교수수행에 대한 전문성, 인성 및 사회적 능력, 자기개발 및 전문성 신장, 협력, 멘토, 교직신념을 갖추어야 하는 것으로 인식하였다. 본 연구결과는 기존 일반교사들을 대상으로 하는 교사 리더십의 연구결과들과 유사한다. 이는 특수교육 교사와 일반교사들이 비록 주교육대상이 차이가 있다하더라도 교사에게 요구되는 리더십은 크게 다르지 않음을 말해준다.
Abstract
This study investigated the special education teacher leadership perceived by pre-service special education teachers through reflective journal writing during their practicum. Participants were 17 students of a college of special education who participated in field experience for four weeks. Students were asked to write reflective journals in the period of four weeks. For the purpose of this study, a content analysis procedure was selected that included the following steps: review data, analyze and group similar ideas into categories, and define categorized responses. The result showed pre-service special education teachers perceived special education teacher leaders need to have professional knowledge, practical teaching skills, desirable personalities, social competence, positive attitudes toward personal or professional growth, teaching beliefs. They also perceived that special education leaders have to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other specialists and to give colleagues or new teachers help and advice related to their jobs.
