아동의 성별과 연령에 따른 음운인식능력의 차이에 대한 연구

아동의 언어 발달에 있어서 성차이는 오랜 동안 연구의 주제가 되어 왔으나, 국내에서는 비교적 최근에 체계적인 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 선행 연구의 결과는 성차이를 인정하는 연구와 인정하지 않는 연구가 다소 상반되게 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 아동의 음운인식 발달에 있어서 성차이가 있는 지를 조사하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 158명의 아동을 대상으로 음운인식검사를 시행하여 각 연령대별로 음운인식능력의 성별에 따른 차이가 있는지 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 아동의 음운인식 발달에는 성차이가 나타나지 않았다. 그라나 음운인식 하위 영역에서는 4세의 수세기 영역에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 다른 연령대에서는 성차이가 나타나지 않았다.
Abstract
Sex differences have been widely studied in the area of language development, school achievement, social skill development, career development, developmental psychology, and emotional development. In the line of related studies, this study investigates sex difference and age differences in phonological awareness in pre-school children. This study examines how biological differences have effect on the development of phonological awareness using 158 preschool children. Participants were tested on a phonological awareness test. Age differences were found in the overall tasks. However, unlike previous study, sex differences were not found in the more difficult tasks, but found in the less difficult tasks of phonological awareness test.
