수용자 인성교육의 변천과 개선방안

Abstract

Personality education for correctional institution inmates, which is one of correctional educations, has played an important role in correction as the ideology of punishment has been carried out from retribution to educational penalty. In korea, history of personality education for them began with the imperialistic spiritual education of japanese colonial era. The prison minister, a combination of Christianity and anti-communist government of the first republic, was responsible for spiritual education for them and national spiritual education for them tended to be oriented toward national character in the days of Park Chung Hee. In the Fifth Republic, physical training was included in spiritual education for them and there was a strong tendency for physical penalty. Then until 2006, spiritual education with a physical penalty was implemented in three stages. In 2007, there was a big change of education ideology for them from existing spiritual education to personality education oriented toward citizenship. But, the problems of the bureaucratic personality education based on internal-led model have emerged and existing personality education for them has changed into an externally driven personality education and has continued to this day. But, korean personality education for them has had diverse problems including quantitative meritocracy, merchandising, centralization, uniformization, hierarchical selectivity, undemocraticity, nationalization and so on. Therefore, I asserted the improvement plans of personality education and transition of it in terms of total, interdisciplinary aspects which existing studies passed over unlike existing studies with a micro approach. I asserted how personality education has controlled their spirits and minds through symbolic violence. And I described the macroscopic aspects of personality education after describing how diverse interests including policy, economic, society, religion external agencies have been dynamically combined and pursued their rents in different regimes.
