Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of career maturity on adolescents’ subjective well-being and to examine the mediating role of school adjustment and the moderating role of family support. Data were collected from 1,000 middle and high school students across various regions in South Korea. The analysis was conducted using PROCESS Macro 4.2 (Model 7). The findings revealed that, first, career maturity had a significant positive effect on subjective well-being. Second, school adjustment partially mediated the relationship between career maturity and subjective well-being, indicating that adolescents with higher career maturity tended to adapt better to school, which, in turn, enhanced their well-being. Third, family support moderated the mediation path; when family support was higher, the effect of career maturity on school adjustment was strengthened, leading to an increase in subjective well-being. These findings highlight the importance of an integrated approach to supporting adolescents' psychological development, emphasizing the promotion of career maturity, school adjustment, and family support as key components of practice and intervention.
