실업계 고등학교 교육의 성격, 역할 및 목적에 관한 교사의 인식

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of vocational high school teachers regarding characteristics and objectives of vocational high school. To perform this study, a questionnaire was developed by the researcher to collect the information. The populations were 39,163 teachers in 734 vocation high schools, using quota sampling and cluster sampling technique, 2,464 teachers of 154 vocational high schools were sampled for the study. The major results of the study were as follows :⑴ First of all, the characteristics of vocational high school should put emphasis on basic academic skills and general vocational education, and then on specific skills for a job.⑵ In the past objectives vocational high school adhere to the preparation for a job, but in the future the they should be changed from preparation for a job to preparation for higher education. ⑶ The specialized vocational high schools are regarded to be a desirable educational alternative to the current vocational high school which generally help students prepare for job.
