고등교육에서 대학생들의 전공만족도와 진로탐색 자기 효능감이 진로탐색행동에 미치는 영향: 공학계열 대학생들을 중심으로

초록

최근 장기간의 경제침체로 인해 청년실업률이 증가하면서 대학생들의 진로문제는 더욱더 심각해지고 있다. 특히 이공계의 위기가 지속됨에 따라 공학계열 대학생들의 진로와 관련하여 나타나는 더욱 심각한 문제는 자신의 전공과 일치하지 않는 업무를 원하고 있다는 점이다. 이러한 대학생들의 고민을 해결하기 위하여 이공계 대학생의 진로상담 강화와 취업역량을 높이기 위한 다양한 교육적 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 노력의 일환으로 본 연구에서는 고등교육기관의 관점에서 공학계열 대학생들의 진로지도에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 대학생들의 심리적 변인 중 전공만족도와 진로탐색 자기효능감이 진로탐색행동에 미치는 영향과 변인들 간의 인과관계를 기초로 구조모형방정식을 설정하고 이를 실증적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 이에 공학계열 대학생 216명을 대상으로 전공만족도, 진로탐색 자기효능감, 그리고 진로탐색행동에 대한 구조적 관계를 구조방정식을 통해 살펴보았다. 또한 보다 구체적인 요인들의 인과관계분석을 위해 효과분해 즉, 총 효과, 직접효과, 간접효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 각 변인들의 상관관계는 매우 유의미한 것으로 나타났으며, 전공만족도는 진로탐색 자기효능감에 직접적인 영향을 진로탐색행동에는 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않지만 간접적으로 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 진로탐색 자기효능감 또한, 진로탐색행동에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 요인들의 인과관계에 대한 구조모형의 적합도 분석결과, 모형의 적합지수 기준을 대부분 만족하는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 고등교육기관에서 공학계열 대학생들을 위해 추진해야할 진로탐색에 대한 교육적 논의와 시사점이 제시되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships among major satisfaction (MS), career search efficacy (CSE), career exploration behavior (CEB) with university students who were in engineering department. To investigate this research, 216 subjects were surveyed be means of paper based questionnaires, in which were participation’s personal information, MS scale, CSE scale, and CEB scale. In order to analysis the cause and effects among variables, structural equation modeling was employed as well as, there were used total effect, direct effect, and indirect effect index by Bootstrapping to estimate the specific effects. All analysis were employed by SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. According to the results, there were significant correlation that ranged from r=.24 to r=.49, p<.01. There were significant relationships on the cause and effects, CSE was predicted by MS =0.62, p<.01, CEB was predicted by CSE =0.58, p<.01. However, there was not significant cause and effects between MS and CEB, but indirect effect of MS trough CEB was =0.36, p<.01. Meanwhile, the measurement model provided an acceptable fit to the data; (24, 216)=37.94, p<.05, GFI=0.96, CFI=0.98, TLI=0.98, RMR=0.03, RMSEA=0.05. Based on the results of this study, some recommendations were suggested for increasing CEB of university student in engineering department.
