단청문양을 활용한 주얼리디자인 문양 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study was both for the possible application of dan-cheong which has been used to decorate the internal and external appearance of the our buildings and for the development of cultural contents based on the traditional culture. With this study, the motive of utilization of jewelry design was expanded, and the geometric modeling elements which can be found in dan-cheong pattern representing Korean people’s emotion and aesthetic sense as the design pattern which can be used when designing the fashion jewelry were developed. The basic study on the dan-chong pattern representing Korea, its type, its formative and aesthetic feature was performed through the study of concerned books, and, based on this, 9 basic images of dan-cheong pattern were identified. These images were modularized with geometric simplified method through the motive of original images, and digital image module which can be used as a cultual industry was proposed through the work for the pattern being used in the jewelry design. Based on this study, we would like to contribute to a more on-going study on the cultural contents industry in various fields and the founding of new value of our traditional culture and, furthermore, the fortification of the basis for the advanced cultural nation.
