전문계 고등학교에서 팀 기반 학습방법이 학습자의 과제수행, 학습활동, 동기에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 전문계 고등학교 중 공업계 고등학교에서 팀 기반 학습의 적용이 학습자의 과제수행(과제이해도 및 과제수행노력), 학습활동, 동기에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 특히 팀 기반 학습 방법과 전통적인 강의식 수업방법 및 토론 중심의 소집단학습 방법을 적용하는 비교집단들과의 비교를 통하여 과제수행(과제이해도 및 과제수행노력), 학습활동 및 동기 수준의 차이를 비교․분석한 결과를 살펴보았다. 먼저 연구를 위하여 수업을 진행한 일반 강의식 수업, 토론식 소집단학습, 팀 기반 학습 집단의 세 개의 집단에 대한 동질성 검사를 실시한 결과 사전 동기 수준에 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 사전 동기 수준을 공변량으로 조정된 평균을 계산하고, 집단 간 사후 과제이해도 검사를 실시한 결과, 조정된 평균 점수에서는 팀 기반 학습이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편 사후 과제수행노력 검사의 경우 팀 기반 학습 집단의 조정된 평균 점수가 가장 높았으나, 공변량분석 결과 세 집단 간의 차이는 유의미하지 않았다. 사후동기와 학습활동 수준의 경우, 집단 간 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 학습활동의 세부 변인들인 리더십, 의사소통, 피드백, 조원 간 협력 변인에서는 팀 기반 학습이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 팀 기반 학습이 전문계 고등학교의 새로운 교육방법으로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 그러나 학습자들의 흥미와 집중력을 높이고 수업 참여를 높이기 위해서는 교사의 세심한 사전 수업준비와 학습자들의 체계적인 선행학습을 위한 지원이 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of team-based learning on learners' performance(task understanding and performance effort), learning activities, and motivation in a vocational high school. Especially, we compared the effects among three types of instructional methods: instructor-led lecture, discussion-based small group learning, and team-based learning. The homogeneity test among the three groups revealed a slight difference and partially resulted in heterogeneity in pre-motivational level. We took it as the covariance and produced the adjusted mean. In turn, we conducted comparison analyses on performance level(task understanding and performance efforts) among the three groups and concluded that team-based learning group outperformed the other two groups regarding the task understanding, of which differences were statistically significant. On the other hand, the differences in motivation and performance effort level were not statistically significant among the three groups. However, the team-based learning group showed statistically higher scores on sub categories of learning activity such as perception on team learning activities, leadership, communication, feedback, supports variables compared to the other two groups. We explored the reasons why the team-based learning was effective in performance and was ineffective in affective domain i.e, motivation. Finally, we addressed the importance of teaching preparation of teachers and pre-study of learners in order for the team-based learning become more effective.
