대학생 진로발달의 종단적 변화양상과 첫 일자리 직업만족으로의 전이관계 분석

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 진로 발달이 직업 획득 이후 첫 일자리에서의 만족으로 어떻게 연계되는지를 탐색하여, 직업 세계로의 성공적인 진입을 위한 진로준비 단계에서의 선제적인 지원의 근거를 제시하고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 청년패널 5차~13차 시점 자료를 활용하여 성장혼합모형 분석을 통해 4년제 대학생의 학년별 진로발달 변화양상의 잠재집단과 이를 예측하는 요인을 살펴보았다. 또한 잠재프로파일 분석과 잠재전이분석을 적용하여 대학 재학기간 동안 진로발달 변화양상 잠재집단이 대학 졸업 이후 첫 일자리에서의 직업만족 유형 잠재집단으로 전이되는 양상을 탐색하였다. 분석결과, 대학생의 학년별 진로발달 변화양상 잠재집단은 진로발달 수준이 향상하는 집단과 하락하는 집단으로 분류되었다. 진로발달 변화양상을 예측하는 요인들의 영향력을 탐색한 결과, 대학에서 교수의 학생지도 만족도가 높을수록, 자아존중감이 높을수록, 진로장벽의 외적갈등 수준이 낮을수록 진로발달이 향상하는 집단에 속할 가능성이 커지는 것으로 나타났다. 대학 졸업 이후 획득한 첫 일자리에서의 직업만족 유형은 전반적 불만족, 전반적 만족, 근로환경 만족･고용안정성 불만족으로 구성된 세 집단으로 분류되었다. 진로발달 변화양상 잠재집단에서 첫 일자리 직업 만족잠재집단으로 전이양상을 분석한 결과 진로발달 향상 집단에서는 전반적 직업만족 수준이 가장 높은 집단으로 이동할 가능성이 높은 반면, 하락하는 집단에서는 전반적인 직업만족 수준이 낮은 집단으로 전이될 확률이 가장 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하여 대학 기관 차원에서 실효성 있는 진로교육 실천을 위한 첫째, 대학 입학부터 졸업까지 장기적인 관점에서의 지속적인 진로발달 지원의 필요성, 둘째, 진로발달을 위한 심리 정서적인 조력의 필요성, 셋째, 대학 내 사회적 자본 형성 지원의 중요성에 대해 제언하였다.

Abstract

This study aims to provide implications for supporting the career development of university students helping their successful transition to work. For the current study, data from the Youth Panel from 5th to 13th wave of the Korea Employment Information Service were used. A growth mixture model analysis was conducted to identify differential patterns of university students’ career development. Also, a latent profile analysis and latent transition analysis were applied to explore longitudinal changes from career development trajectories of university students to job satisfaction at the first jobs. The result supported two classes model for career development trajectories of university students. Higher satisfaction with the professor’s guidance, higher self-esteem, lower external career barriers were significant in the prediction of belonging to “increase” group. 3 latent profile groups were constructed for job satisfaction at the first jobs. Those who belonged in “increase” group of career development trajectories through university life transferred mostly to “general satisfaction” group at the first jobs. For “decrease” group, the transition probability to “general dissatisfaction” turned to be the highest. The result of this study confirmed the need for individual demand-based systematic design in career development support for university students at the institutional level.
