본 연구에서는 한국노동패널 10차년도 기준 40세 이상 중고령자를 대상으로 이들의 삶의 만족도 결정요인 분석을 시도하였다. 특히 이번 연구에서는 15차년도 패널조사를 같이 사용하고 고정효과 패널분석을 시도하여 횡단면분석에서 발생하는 내생성 문제를 고려하였다. 실증분석 결과에 따르면 개인의 인구학적 특성이나 자산규모 보다는 부모의 생존여부와 건강상태 그리고 사회경제적 배경이 삶의 만족도를 결정하는 중요한 요인임을 보여주고 있다. 임금근로자 표본만을 분석한 만족도 분석에서는 근로소득의 규모가 개인의 삶의 만족도에 중요한 요인으로 작용하였다.
Abstract
This paper empirically estimates the determinants of middle-aged people (aged 50 years or older) workers related to their life satisfaction. Using the survey for aged people of the Korean panel data set, the paper conducts the fixed effects models for controlling unobserved individual characteristics which might affect subjective decision on the satisfaction. The empirical results show that those such as health condition, family relation and socio-economic background is more important than the amount of financial assets in related to the peoples’ satisfaction. Among the salaried workers, wages seem to be important factor determining life satisfaction.
