박경리 1960․70년대 장편소설 연구 -가족관계의 갈등과 화해를 중심으로-

지금까지 박경리 문학에 대한 연구는 토지를 중심으로 하여 초기 단편 소설과 몇몇 대표 장편소설을 대상으로 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 각 작품에 대한독립적인 연구와 함께 각 작품의 상호텍스트성을 바탕으로 박경리 문학의 전모를 통합적으로 살피는 것 또한 박경리 문학세계를 밝히는데 필요한 과정이라 생각한다. 그러므로 초기 작품에 드러나는 속악한 현실에 대한 결벽한 성격을 가진 여성인물의 저항과 토지에서 완성되고 있는 생명사상이 1960․70년대 중․장편 소설에서 어떻게 연계되어 나타나고 있는 가 밝히는 것은 박경리 문학의 일관된 세계관의 도출과 결국 문학을 통해 작가가 궁극적으로 전달하고자 하는 바가 무엇인지 밝히는데 이바지할 수 있다. 1960․70년대 발표된 박경리 소설에 드러난 표층 서사의 갈등은 멜로 드라마적 성격을 띠고 있지만 심층적으로 인물들의 연애의 실패는 애정 문제에 국한 된 것이 아닌 보다 근본적으로, 다층적인 차원에서 발생하고 있음을 알 수있다. 박경리의 1960․70년대 장편소설에 드러난 애정의 갈등과 해결과정은대중소설의 관점을 넘어 가족이데올로기에 대응하는 가족서사의 연장선상에서 이해할 필요가 있다. 박경리의 1960․70 년대 장편소설의 가족 서사적 특성을 통해 가족 갈등의원인과 해소 과정을 거치면서 드러난 완전한 사랑과 가족의 의미를 살펴보고이를 바탕으로 생명사상의 연속성을 밝혀보고자 한다.
Abstract
The study on Park Kyung-ri has been focused on "Land" with the early short stories and some well-known novels. Based on the intertextuality of each work, however, it should be necessary to study the integrity of the whole picture of her works in order to define the characteristics of her work. It is possible to search for her ultimate goal or intention to reveal through studying how both a fastidious woman's resistance against the secure world in the early works and the idea of the life in "Land" are related to novels in the 1960's and 70's. Although the narration of the 1960-70's novels has the traits of the melodrama, the failure of love relationship among characters occurs in the various levels not just in the matter of affection. The understanding of love conflict and its solution should be required to know the family narration corresponding to the ideology of the Family. The parent's life made by adhering the patriarchal principle of pure-blooded gives the bad influence on their children who fail in their attempt to ensure their own dignity and to free from their destinies. Therefore, those who look for love lose the dream of making the family and become isolated from the life itself. That means the failure of romantic relationship is directly related to the destruction of one's life. Consequently, this study not only defines the meaning of perfect love and of family, but also it explores the continuity of the ideal of the life between the 1960-70's novels and "Land," through investigating how people undergo the family conflict and try to solve it.
