포스트네트워크 드라마에 나타난 여성 인물의 폭력성 연구 –「킬링이브」와 「구경이」를 중심으로

본고의 목적은 포스트네트워크 드라마에 나타난 여성 인물의 폭력적 주체성과유동적 공동체 형성의 과정을 분석하는 것이다. 개인 취향 기반의 콘텐츠를 연속적으로 시청할 수 있는 포스트네트워크 시대의 매체 환경에 따라 드라마의 소재와 설정은 다면화 되었으며 서사 구조도 변화하고 있다. 그에 따라 새로운 인물유형으로 폭력적 여성 인물이 등장했다. 포스트네트워크 시대 이전에 이들은 안타고니스트로서 유혹, 복수 등 관습적 기능만을 수행했다. 이에 반해 포스트네트워크 시대 드라마에 나타난 폭력적 여성은 서사를 이끌어 나가는 주체적 인물로 등장한다. 포스트네트워크 드라마의 서사적 특징인이야기의 다중적 전개방식, 탈 에피소드적 구성 방식은 여성 인물이 폭력성을 획득하게 된 원인과 과정, 권력과 주체성을 획득하는 과정과 결과 등을 다면적으로나타내기에 적합하다. 이에 본고에서는 주요 연구 대상으로 해외 드라마 「킬링이브」와 국내 드라마 「구경이」를 선정하여 여성 인물들이 폭력의 주체로서 주변 여성 인물들과 대립과 협력의 관계를 맺으며 상호작용하고 유동적 공동체를 형성하는 과정을 분석했다. 상징계 질서에서 아브젝트였던 여성의 폭력성이라는 기호계의 욕동이상징계에 개입하게 되고 궁극적으로 폭력과 욕망의 주체인 팜므 카스트라트리스가 형성된다. 이처럼 포스트네트워크 드라마에 나타난 팜므 카스트라트리스로서의 여성 인물들은 상징계와 기호계의 사이를 가로지르는 과정을 통해서 폭력적여성 인물의 욕망과 행동, 주체성과 공동체 의식을 다각적으로 제시한다.
Abstract
This paper analyzes the violent subjectivity and fluid community formation of female characters in post-network dramas. Within the media environment of the post-network era, where individual taste-based content can be continuously viewed, the themes and settings of the drama become multifaceted, and narrative structures are constantly changing. As a result, violent female characters have emerged as a new type of character. Before the post-network era, their functions within the narrative were rather conventional, as they often simply seduced others or sought revenge as antagonists. However, in the post-network drama, violent female characters appear as autonomous characters who drive the narrative forward. The multiple storylines of an episode and non-episodic narrative composition, both of which are narrative features of post-network dramas, are suitable for revealing, in a multifaceted manner, the causes and processes of female characters’ acquisition of violence and the process of how they acquire power and subjectivity, as well as its consequences. Therefore, in this paper, the British drama series Killing Eve and the Korean drama Inspector Koo were selected as objects of study to analyze the process of how female characters as violent subjects, form fluid communities through confrontation and cooperation with other female characters. In the symbolic order, the expression of the violence of women, which is an abject topic, intervenes in the symbolic order, forming the femme castratrice, which is the subject of violence and desire. In post-network dramas, they present the desires, actions, subjectivities, and sense of community of violent female characters through the process of crossing between the symbolic and the semiotic.
