From the Spring and Autumn period to the years of the People Republic of China,the history of the development of salt industry in China has experienced five times larger reform; regional stage of the reform of the salt is too numerous to mention. According to the success or failure of these reforms and the gains and losses of the past century, dozens of domestic academic scholars embarked on an extensive, in-depth and detailed study. Published hundreds of types of research results, including two monographs,more than 100 papers, and relevant research results are numerous. The study will address the reform’s historical background, reasons, objectives, policies and measures, its mode of operation, the basic results and problems that exist. Reviewed and summarized the results of these studies, analysis of its achievements and shortcomings, for the study to explore the future direction of development has very important theoretical meaning and practical significance. The overview of existing research results, it is certain that the last century around the history of all aspects of the reform of the salt industry, the academic efforts is by no doubt. From the number of point of view, the results as much as the evidence. But at the same time we should also see a clear, although the above-mentioned study has made some achievements, but it is in the depth or breadth of research is concerned, there is much room for further improvement, especially in research on the depth is not enough, there are many issues which need to be more in-depth inquiry. Research results from itself, there is research depth is not deep enough, not precise enough conclusion of the study, insufficient historical data mining, reproducibility of research results, such as the shortcomings of more. The existing research gaps and weaknesses for future study on the subject points out the direction, detention space. We now need to do is to sum up the past and demonstrate the effectiveness on the basis of the future. Salt the future reform of the past research, the main focus should be to make up for the start of these weak links. In addition, with the other subjects related with the expansion of cross-cutting research, also needs to be further strengthened.
