Therefore is it presumed the story of exploiting a foreign nation appearing in 'a confucianist in island on the sea' is influenced by Heo Gyun's <Honggildongjeon>. When we take into account the fact that the story relating to Heo Gyun's <Honggildongjeon> was secretly circulating in the latter half of the 18th century, and the stories relating to the Hong gil-dong was specially circulating in the latter half of the 18th century, and these stories was focused on the story of exploiting a foreign nation, we can recognize that the stories of exploiting a foreign nation appearing in latter time was influenced by Heo Gyun's <Honggildongjeon>.
