식암 김석주의 기사문(記事文) 연구 -‘재사정련(才思精鍊)’의 형식미를 중심으로-

이 연구는 조선 중․후기 문풍을 주도했던 김석주의 기사문의 특징을 밝히기 위한 것이다. 김석주의 문장을 논할 때 흔히 붙는 수식어는 관각문인이다. 이러한 타이틀에 가려진 김석주 산문의 문예미 또한 김석주의 문학을 구성하는 중요한 요소이다. 김석주는 진한고문부터 당송고문을 섭렵하고 각 문풍의 장점을 체득하였다. 이러한 그의 성과를 두고 문인들은 인공적 형식미로 표현하였다. 그리고 김석주 산문의 이러한 문예적 특징은 기사문에 잘 반영되어 있다. 그는 ‘재사정련(才思精鍊)’으로 집약할 수 있는 산문 세계를 펼쳤다. 재사(才思)는 재치 있는 생각을 다듬는 것이고, 정련(精鍊)은 치밀한 표현을 단련하는 것이다. 김석주는 내용과 형식면에서 이러한 가치를 추구하며 독보적인 산문세계를 구축하였다. 특히 기사문에 나타난 개성적인 문체의 추구는 산문미학의 발전에 기여하였다.
Abstract
This study is about Kim Seok-ju who take the lead the literary spirit in the middle of the Joseon Dynasty. Government writer is the modifier when people talk about his writing. Beautiful literary art is an also important factor which is covered with this title. Kim Seok-ju surveyed Qin-Han classics, Tang-Sung classics and learned the strong point from each literary spirit. At that times writers expressed Kim Seok-ju' literary achievement of artificial beauty of form. And Kim Seok-ju' Beautiful literary art characteristic is reflected on descriptive composition. He develop Jeasa-Junglean which his writing is integrated. Jeasa means elaborating and studying the nimble-witted thought. Junglean means training and intensifying the meticulous expression. Kim Seok-ju pursuited this value both side content and form. As a result he constructed matchless the world of prose. Especially the characteristic style of writing showing on descriptive composition, played important role in development of the aesthetic of prose.
