Abstract
our Quartets was based on Eliot’s memory and experience about the four places where Eliot visited. Eliot tried to express his own memory and experience but it could never be feasible. This paper looks at the importance of the memory and experience in the process of creating Four Quartets. The key is that Eliot continues to express the memory and the experience most exactly but there always comes a different or an unexpected result. This implies a constant change of all things in the universe. This brings to Eliot’s thought that only by following God’s time, we could redeem our times. So Eliot centers rather on wisdom than on knowledge and on the present (‘now’) than on the past and the future. Even the knowledge which ancestors have given to humans has not constancy. And the present is the best moment for redeeming from the times like “all is always now.”
