Abstract

Since the 21st century, succession of traditions in Korean costume and its creative development by modernization have been recognized as more urgent problems as the current fashion trend tends to move towards strengthened self-expression of each nation. Therefore, various attempts on the modernized Korean costume are required. In other words, the modemized Korean costume should not be dressed only in special days or particular job but developed into designs of casual wear considering convenience in wearing. In this study, the modernized Korean costume is defined as dothes with developed designs suitable for a modern life and modern demand by improving inconvenience of wearing and living in traditional Korean costume, and casual wear market and consumer preference were analyzed.
