Abstract

The purpose of comparing and contrasting the object is to clarify its similarity and difference. In case the object of comparison is almost identical or remarkably different, it almost comes to lose its value. That is, the highest value of the method of comparative analysis is that the object of comparison shows diversity by exhibiting the difference while having the commonality. This study found that the image of transparency expressed in costume and makeup shows both the commonality and the difference. The image of transparency expressed in costume presents pureness, eroticism, playfulness and openness, while the image of transparency expressed in makeup represents pureness, naturalness, restraint and openness.
