청소년 자원봉사센터의 이용실태 및 활성화 방안연구 - 보령시 청소년자원봉사센터를 중심으로

Abstract

This study has examined the actual using conditions of Boryung Youth Volunteer Center to formulate a plan to activate it. The main objects were middle school and highschool students living in Boryung city. The study is also aimed to plan the activation of Boryung Youth Volunteer Center by examining the teachers' common ideas about the relationship between Youth Volunteer Center and school. The study sampled 600 middle school or highschool students and the 150 teacher in Boryung city as the objects. The middle school students were second and third year and the highschool students were first and second year students. We formulated question forms for the study - 584 question forms for the students, 149 question forms for the teachers. The analysis tool is SPSS win. 12.0, statics process program. Frequency and rate were calculated to analyze the actual using conditions of Youth Volunteer Center and the teachers' ideas on the volunteer work. T-test was also carried out to analyze the program requirement. Frequency and rate were also calculated to analyze the plan to activate Youth Volunteer Center. The conclusions are as follows. First, the study has got the percentage of those who know nothing about Boryung Youth Volunteer Center by sex - the male students 51.8% and the female student 39.4. It means that the female students know about Youth Volunteer Center more than the male students. Though youth themselves are the main body of the youth volunteer work, the high percentage of not knowing Youth Volunteer Center shows insufficient things - the institution itself, schools, the teachers' cognition on youth volunteer work, advertisement, and the education. Second, on the question which asks which factors make it difficult to use Boryung Youth Volunteer Center, most students chose the answer that they do not have enough time to go, which shows that the modern youths do not absolutely have free time in their everyday life. Third, the volunteer work through Boryung Youth Volunteer Center were just simple labor; Youths are young and do not have experienced skill so that the volunteer activities were limited to the easiest work like cleaning. In addition, there is no budgetary support to Boryung Youth Volunteer Center, which limits specialized volunteer work through the special skill education. Forth, The attracting forms of volunteer work is participating in it with their friendly peers. Therefore, Boryung Youth Volunteer Center should develop various and specialized programs to attract amicable peer group; volunteer work by part, small group centered volunteer work, and volunteer work with family, etc. Fifth, most students wanted to participate in volunteer work during the vacation or weekend. It is because they have not enough time to participate in volunteer work during the semester because of classes and extra programs after school. To solve this problem, the volunteer work education should have connection with regular subject learning to make it more proper and efficient. Sixth, they should guarantee the speciality of the staff to activate Youth Volunteer Center. The specialized volunteer work manger should recognize individual characters of youths and prepare pre-education to lead youths to participate in volunteer work actively and constantly with contentment. Seventh, the study shows that the teachers themselves need to connect to Youth Volunteer Center. The organic cooperation system between school and Youth Volunteer Center should be established to support active volunteer work of youths. Eighth, the teachers' result shows the necessity of charged teacher to educate and manage youths systematically. However, youths are not managed correctly in the reality because of the teachers' conditions; they have insufficient time, special knowledge, and information, and excessive work. To solve the problems of excessive work and insufficient time, the charged teacher who will manage volunteer work should be arranged to support the activation of the volunteer work at the level of school.
