The purpose of this research is investigating costumes, excavated from Uiryeong nam’s Tomb in Yesan, Chungnam province, and estimating the chronical year. For method of study, it is compared the feature of investigated costumes with that of another similar costumes, excavated from another tomb. The factor to estimate the chronical year is as follows: First, kinds of relic. There are wrinkle of armpit, somoja(scull cap), etc., and he was wearing pants for women, even though owner of tomb is male. Second, form change of clothes according to times. They are rate of top and bottom of Cheolrik(Man’s coat), shape of Dallyeong(Official’s robe)·Jing-nyeong(Man’s coat)·Do-po(Man’s coat), indirect tab hanging separately, sleeve as form of column, and putties by form of bird's beak. Third, fabric and shape pattern with nature of time. It can hardly distinguish period only by fabric, and one cloud shape for pattern. As we surveyed costumes, it is estimated costumes of Uiryeong nam’s Tomb as before and after Japanese invasion to Joseon (late 16c~early 17c). Also, we can estimate the period when owner of tomb acted as end of 16c approximately.
