본 연구의 목적은 입원중인 조병병환자의 집단음악치료 효과를 알아보기 위해 우울과 불안 증상의 변화를 분석하는데 있다. 연구대상자는 충남소재 정신병원에 입원한 환자 20명을 실험집단과 통제집단에 각 10명씩 무작위로 배치하여 주 1회 60분씩 총 10회기 동안 음악치료를 실시하였다. 연구결과 실험집단의 우울점수는 프로그램 실시 전 23.9점에서 프로그램 실시 후 10.0점으로 감소되었으며, 두 집단 간 Mann-Whitney 검증결과 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 실험집단의 불안점수는 프로그램 실시 전 16.4점에서 프로그램 실시 후 12.4점으로 감소되었으며, 두 집단 간 Mann-Whitney 검증결과, 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 따라서 집단음악치료가 입원중인 조현병환자의 우울과 불안 감소에 효과적이라고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 향후 조현병환자의 우울과 불안 감소를 위해 음악치료의 적용을 체계적으로 접근할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of music therapy on depression and anxiety for hospitalized schizophrenic patients. Twenty patients participated the group music therapy at the psychiatric hospital located in Chungnam. They were randomly assigned either to experimental group or control group. Experimental group participated the 60-minute group music therapy once a week for 10 sessions. The results are as follows; Depression for the experimental group reduced and the result of Mann-Whitney test showed statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test. Anxiety for the experimental group reduced, and the result of Mann-Whitney test showed statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test. It was found that group music therapy is effective in reducing depression and anxiety for patients with schizophrenia. Based on the result, more systematic approach must be taken to apply music therapy to reduce depression and anxiety of patients with schizophrenia.
