비행청소년의 어머니의 양육 스트레스와 양육행동 간의 관계에서 양육 효능감의 조절효과

초록

본 연구는 청소년의 비행과 밀접한 관련이 있는 변인을 알아보고자, 비행청소년집단의 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 어머니의 양육행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 그리고 양육 스트레스를 완충하여 바람직한 양육행동을 돕는 양육 효능감의 조절효과를 확인하였다. 비행청소년집단의 어머니를 조사하기 위해 소년보호교육기관(구 소년원) 4곳에 수용되어 있는 보호소년의 어머니, 법무부 산하 보호관찰소 7개소와 청소년비행예방센터 9곳에서 보호관찰 중이거나 교육 명령 이행 중인 청소년의 어머니 252명을 조사 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 수집된 자료는 SPSS 19를 활용하여 통계처리 하였다. 우선, 연구대상들의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위해 기술통계분석을 하였다. 다음으로 연구에 사용된 변인들의 관계를 살펴보기 위해 Pearson의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 가설 검증을 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였는데, 어머니의 양육 스트레스를 독립변인으로, 어머니의 양육 효능감을 조절변인으로, 어머니의 양육행동을 종속변인으로 각각 설정한 이후 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 비행청소년집단의 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 높을수록, 양육 효능감, 온정·수용 양육행동은 낮고, 거부·제재 양육행동, 허용·방임 양육행동은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 더불어, 어머니의 양육 효능감이 높을수록 양육 스트레스, 거부·제재 양육행동, 허용·방임 양육행동은 낮고, 온정·수용 양육행동은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육스트레스가 어머니의 양육행동에 영향을 주는 과정에서 양육 효능감이 어머니의 거부·제재 양육행동에 조절역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 어머니의 양육행동에 영향을 주는 과정에서 허용·방임 양육행동, 온정·수용 양육행동에는 양육 효능감의 조절효과가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 양육 스트레스와 양육행동 간의 관계에서 양육 효능감의 조절효과를 확인하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 후속 연구 및 청소년 비행의 예방 및 대처 방법에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study was to determine the effect on mothers’ parenting behaviors imposed by the parenting stresses in the group of mothers who have juvenile delinquents in order to identify factors closely related with. In addition, regulation effects of parenting efficacy as a protecting factor to reduce parenting stresses and to help desirable behaviors were confirmed. To examine mothers of juvenile delinquents group, we surveyed a total of 252 mothers. They were mothers of protected juveniles expropriated in 4 juvenile protection and education authorities (formerly Youth Detention Center) and mothers of youths under probation or implementation of education order at 7 probation offices and 9 youthful misdemeanor-prevention centers under Ministry of Justice. The collected data for this study were analyzed statistically by using SPSS 19. At first, to identify general characteristics of the subjects, descriptive statistical analysis was conducted. Next, to examine the relationship of variables applied to the study, Pearson’s correlation analysis was carried out. Finally, for hypothesis verification, hierarchical regression analysis was performed after setting mothers’ parenting stresses as an independent variable; mothers’ parenting efficacy as a moderating variable; mothers’ parenting behaviors as a dependent variable, respectively. As a result of the study, first, it was indicated that the bigger the parenting stresses of mothers in juvenile delinquents groups were, the less both the parenting efficacy and the parenting behaviors of compassionateness and receptiveness were, while the greater both the parenting behaviors of rejection and restriction as well as parenting behaviors of permission and neglect were. In addition, it was further revealed that the higher the parenting efficacy of mothers was, the less the parenting stresses, the behaviors of rejection and restriction, and the behaviors of permission and neglect were, while the greater the parenting behaviors of compassionateness and receptiveness were. Second, in the process of the parenting stresses of mothers on the parenting behaviors, the parenting efficacy was identified as a regulating role in the parenting behaviors of rejection and restriction of the mothers. On the contrary, while the parenting stresses of mothers had an influence on the parenting behaviors, such a regulating effect of parenting efficacy was not shown in the parenting behaviors of permission and neglect and those of compassionateness and receptiveness. In this study, regulating effect of parenting efficacy was identified in the relationship between parenting stresses and parenting behaviors. Based on the result of this study, suggestions for subsequent studies, and prevention and counter measures for juvenile delinquencies were discussed.
