농업·농촌의 가치에 관한 대국민 인식변화와 농업문해의 교육적 함의

본 연구는 한국농촌경제연구원에서 실시한 대국민 농업·농촌의 인식 조사자료를 바탕으로 농업·농촌의 가치에 대한 대국민 인식 변화의 추이를 분석하고, 이를 토대로 농업문해측면에서 교육적 함의를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 이론적 고찰 및 선행연구 분석을 통해 농업문해의 개념을 고찰하고 이와 관련있는 농업·농촌에 대한 인식을 참고하여 2011년부터 2013년까지 실시한 대국민 농업·농촌의 인식 조사자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 농업·농촌에 대한 중요도 인식이 점차 줄어드는 추세이다. 둘째, 젊은 세대일수록 농업·농촌에 대한 중요도 인식이 낮게 나타났다. 셋째, 농업·농촌의 사회적 중요성 인식은 높은 편이나, 상대적으로 농업·농촌문제에 대한 개인적인 관심도나, 관련성 인식 정도는 낮게 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 토대로 농업·농촌의 사회적 중요성에 대한 인식과 개인적 중요성의 차이를 줄이기 위하여 농업·농촌과 관련된 대국민 대상 교육의 체계적 변화가 요구되며, 특히, 유아 및 초등단계에서의 농업문해교육의 강화가 필요함을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the changing pattern of public perception of agriculture based on the survey data of public perception of agriculture and to investigate its educational implication on the agriculture literacy education. To fulfill the purpose of this study, we theoretically reviewed a concept of agriculture literacy by analysis of previous research and used statistical methods to analyze the public survey data of perception of agriculture which was conducted between 2011 to 2013. This results of this study showed some significant findings. First, The perception of agriculture had been decreased during the survey periods. Second, the younger generation was, the lower the perception of agriculture was presented. Third, the perception of social value of agriculture was high but personal interest or concern related to agriculture was relatively low. Based on these results, we recognized the needs of systemic change of agriculture education for public to make smaller the gap between perception of social value of agriculture and personal concern about agriculture. We also recognized especially the needs of strengthening agriculture literacy education for the preschooler and elementary school students.
