遊'의 개념에 대한 연구 - 한국과 일본의 고대 기록을 중심으로

Abstract

This paper analyzed and documented the idea of ‘yu(遊)’ appearing in Samgukyusa, Samguksagi. Following conclusions are drawn. First, the idea of ‘yu’ associated with the travelling of king was estimated to have political and religious nature of kings in Silla period as analyzed in the case of king Hungang's visiting to gaeunpo. Second, the idea of ‘yu’ associated with Hwarang shows that travelling of Hwarang has various purposes such as political, ceremonial and military ones as well as sharing some of king's inherent roles. Third, as for the ceremonial concept of ‘yu’, song is an important tool for sacrificial rite. The idea of ‘yu’ in Japan includes singing ceremony at funeral service. Considering the fact that this feature of Japan is come from Korean influence, this paper estimates that the idea of ‘yu’ in Korea also includes singing ceremony at funeral service. Fourth, ‘yu’ of an ascetic may be a circumstance which not only get away from the secular world outwardly but also freed from all the feeling of restriction mentally. Fifth, the concept of ‘yu’ used for Buddhist monk is different from the ‘yu’ of an ascetic in that it is directed for a state of complete freedom, even without any restriction mentally, in the midst of worldly men. Sixth, the idea of ‘yu’ is different for Koreans and Japanese. Korean ‘yu’ indicates a close relationship with the moon, which reflects moon worship of Koreans. For Japan, contrarily, various objects such as liquer, pear, plum tree, moon, etc., appear with ‘yu’. The moon itself is not the object of ‘yu’ but only a background tool for other play.
