초록
Students today use technology in many aspects of their lives. The mainfocus of this study was to explore how 30 students from a cyberuniversity used technology in their learning process. Data was collectedthrough two focus groups, personal interviews, observations, and studentjournals. All data was transcribed, coded, and separated into emergentthemes. Four basic themes became evident; 1) There was a significantdifference in how technology was used by students in class and how itwas used when not in class; 2) The amount of technology use increasedsignificantly during non-class hours; 3) Technology was used fordifferent reasons based on gender and age; 4) Technology was animportant component in the lives of the participants. Findings showedtechnology use needed to be ingrained in the everyday lives of theparticipants for their effective learning.
