Abstract
The Postmodern Rhetoric in the Pre-1900 Korean Tales and Folklores: The Postmodern rhetoric in Choonhyangjeun Works such as Choonhyangjeun are works that cannot be justified or explicated through a single method of questionnaires. The works are multi-structured and has to be addressed accordingly. Choonhyangjeun through time has been seen and explicated as a single narrative, a love story of two young lovers. The paper aims to create new and much more diverse point of view of appreciating Choonhyangjeun by approaching it from a more from a connotative stance then denotative stance. The paper consequently questions the original narrative and its probable beginnings, the suggestive timeline where two events by hazard happens correspondently and finally the duo-spatial denotations in the story gives the work its full stature as a work that not only corresponds to the period when it was written but also as a piece of work which is timeless in essence.
