話本小說 「刎頸鴛鴦會」에 대한 비교문학적 연구

Abstract

Mungyung-wonanghoe, one of the most distinctive hwabonsoseols, is notable in that various characteristics of different literary modes such as the gojasa, the romance and the ui-hwabon are mixed with each other thereby constructing an ordered or unified whole. Basically assuming the form of the hwabonsoseol, the Mungyung-wonanghoe borrows and rearranges the elements of the gojasa and a condensed story of "Biyunjeon" which is a romance in the Dang period as its constituents. Further, it comes to be put in the Gyungsetongeon, one of three anthologies of ui-hwabon, after passing through some embellishments and adaptations thereby being reborn in the form of the ui-hwabon entitled "Jang sukjin mungyung-wonanghoe."This melting pot-like character of the Mungyung-wonanghoe constitutes a salient feature distinguishing this work from other hwabonsoseols. With this point into consideration, this article intends to explore its primary characteristic as a hwabonsoseol and secondary characteristics derived from employing different literary modes in terms of comparative method. This article dealt with only a single text, to the extent that further studies comparing this work with other hwabonsoseols remain to be untouched.
