조선후기 문화사에서 주목할 만한 현상의 하나로 서화에 대한 관심이 급증하였다는 점을 들 수 있을 것이다. 이 시기에는 이미 장서가가 출현했을 뿐만 아니라 많은 금석·서화를 소장하고 있는 전문 수장가도 있었다. 또한 이들의 서화에 대한 감정 역시 일가를 이루고 있었다. 본고는 이러한 문화현상의 하나인 금석·서화·서적의 수장양상에 대하여 정조의 부마였던 홍현주를 중심으로 살펴본 것이다. 홍현주는 연천 홍석주의 막내 동생으로 경제적인 능력과 부마라는 지위로 많은 서화를 소장하고 있었다. 홍현주가 이렇게 많은 서화와 서적을 수장하게 된 과정을 중국 문인과 주고받은 편지를 통해 고찰하고, 서화에 대한 홍현주의 취미와 이렇게 축적된 서적과 서화가 조선후기 학술사에서 어떠한 의미를 지니는지 확인해보았다.
Abstract
One of the noticeable condition of the latter part of the Josen cultural history is increased interest about paintings and writings. In these period, there were already book collectors as well as special collectors who had lots of paintings and writings and epigraph and also their special opinion were very high. In this thesis, I am going to examine about collection condition of the epigraph, painting and writing and book to focus on the Honh Hun-Ju who was the son -in-law of the king Junh-jo. Hong Hun-Ju was the youngest brother of the Yunchun Hong Suck-Ju and he has lots of paintings and writings because of the position of the son- in- law and the economical ability. This thesis studies the course about his possession of paintings and writings through the letter which exchanged with Chinese literary man, and to confirm the taste of him about the paintings and writings and what is the meaning of these stored paintings and writings in the latter part of the Josen cultual history.
