초록
As the demand for travel increased in Edo period, the need for various types of meisyoki was required. This has diversified into a form that emphasizes the characteristics of each. The two representative types are; one is small-size guides that can actually carry around during the trip, another is ‘meishozue’ types which has expanded the role of painting in expressing knowledge. This paper is to examine the process of making and flavoring “Miyako meishozue”, which has emerged as a new form of ‘meishozue’ types, and to examine its differentiation from other types. A comparison was made with Kaibara Ekiken's “keijo shoran” with distinct characteristics as a small guide, so that only the “Miyako meishozue” could clearly show the features. The results of the review show that “Miyako meishozue” uses the overall use of writing and painting to compress the knowledge of local customs. “Miyako meishozue” details the origins and origins of the landmarks that are sufficient to be used as preliminary knowledge before traveling. Also, the biggest difference is that more and more people actively took advantage of their vitality and diversity by putting the picture mainly in expressing knowledge.
