본고는 『이즈미시키부닛키』에 그려진 달의 장면을 구체적으로 분석하여 미야와 여자가 달이라는 자연경관을 어떻게 표현하고 어떠한 심정으로 달의 와카를 읊고 있는지를 고찰한 것이다. 연구방법으로는 미야와 여자가 달이라는 자연경관을 어떻게 감상하고 있으며 달이 문학적 소재로 어떻게 표현하고 있는지를 파악하기 위하여 달의 장면을 와카가 실린 장면과 와카가 보이지 않는 장면을 구분하였다. 와카가 보이지 않은 달의 장면에는 다양한 양상의 달이 그려져 있고 미야와 여자의 연애과정에 있어 잊을 수 없고 의미 있는 날이 많았다. 하지만 이들 장면에서 달을 자연 물상의 하나로 두 사람의 달에 대한 심정을 살펴보면 달 자체에 대한 직접적인 감상이나 달에 대한 심정표현이 드물고, 오히려 밝은 달에 대해 미야도 여자도 자신의 모습이 노출되는 것을 불편해하거나 민망해하는 장면이 있어 달에 대한 부정적인 감정을 엿볼 수 있었다. 『이즈미시키부닛키』에는 달의 와카가 총17수가 수록되어 있다. 그중 여자는 7수, 미야가 10수로 미야쪽이 3수 더 많다. 계절별로는 여름 달의 와카가 가장 많이 수록되어 있다. 달의 증답가를 통하여 주목할 만한 것은 두 사람이 각자의 처소에서 달을 바라보며 달에 대한 서로의 감상과 공감을 나누지만 때로는 서로의 감상이 빗나가거나 일치하지 않은 장면이 있어 자연에 대한 심정이 상이함을 지적할 수 있겠다. 『이즈미시키부닛키』에는 달의 어휘가 많이 사용되어 있고, 달은 미야와 여자와의 사랑을 이어주는 중요한 매개체 역할을 하지만 달 자체에 대한 심정표현이나 감상이 드문 점으로 볼 때 『이즈미시키부닛키』에서 달을 본다는 것은 달의 아름다움을 감탄하는 것이 아니라 서로를 그리워하며 만날 수 없는 두 사람이 달의 정취를 공유하는 것이었다. 『이즈미시키부닛키』의 달은 자연의 아름다움을 감탄하는 자연관조적 의미보다 두 사람의 공감대를 형성하는 와카의 소재로서의 역할이 크다고 생각된다.
Abstract
This study examines in depth the Moon scenes in Izumishikubuniki to determine how Miya and the woman convey the Moon's natural environment and how they recite the waka of the Moon. To comprehend how Miya and the woman value the Moon's natural landscape and how the Moon is portrayed in literary works, the scene with Waka and the one without Waka were distinguished. There were numerous memorable and significant days during the development of Miya's connection with the woman, as depicted by the Moon image where Waka was not visible. There is no direct admiration of the Moon itself or expression of their sentiments about the Moon, and there are scenes in which Miyado women are uncomfortable or embarrassed to expose themselves to the bright Moon. Of the 17 wakas of the Moon included in Izumishikubuniki 7 is for the woman while Miya has 10, three more than the woman. By season, the summer wakas make up the majority. What is remarkable about the Moon's correspondence is that the two share each other's feelings and empathy toward the moon while looking at it from their respective locations. However, there are instances in which their feelings are not aligned or inconsistent with one another. Words indicating the Moon are heavily utilized in Izumishikubuniki, and the moon plays an important role in connecting the love between Miya and the woman. However, seeing the moon in Izumishikubuniki does not involve admiring the Moon's beauty, but rather sharing the emotion of the two people who could not meet. It is believed that the Moon of IzumiShikibuniki plays a greater role as the material of Waka, something that creates empathy between the two, rather than the object of natural contemplation that allows to appreciate the beauty of the nature.
