오스트리아 잘츠부르크의 문화유산관광과 도시브랜딩에 관한 연구

잘츠부르크는 ‘소금의 성’이란 뜻을 갖고 있는 오스트리아의 문화도시이자, 잘츠부르크주의 주도이다. 본 연구는 잘츠부르크 일대의 문화와 도시관광에 관심을 두고, 도시의 역사와 지리환경, 세계유산을 중심으로 한 문화유산관광 및 도시브랜딩 특징을 고찰하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 잘츠부르크는 가톨릭문화 중심지로 발전하였고, 중세와 바로크를 거쳐 19세기까지 발달해 온 도시경관이 잘 보존되어 있다. 잘츠부르크 역사지구는 유네스코세계유산으로 지정되어 있다. 둘째, 잘츠부르크 유산관광은 모차르트광장, 레지덴츠광장, 성당과 돔광장, 게트라이데거리, 호엔잘츠부르크성, 미라벨궁전 및 정원을 포함한다. 셋째, 잘츠부르크는 모차르트의 출생지이며, 모차르트와 예술콘텐츠를 활용한 도시브랜딩은 매력적인 문화도시로 자리매김한 원동력이 되었다.
Abstract
Salzburg literally ‘salt fortress’ is the culturally rich city and the capital of Salzburg state in Austria. The paper is focused on the culture and urban tourism of Salzburg, and is dedicated to describe its city’s historic and geographic environments, UNESCO World Heritage related tourism resources, and city branding characteristics. The findings are as follows: First, Salzburg was formerly center of catholic tradition, and still preserved its distinctive landscapes to 19th century after the Middle Ages and Baroque times. Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Second, Salzburg has many cultural attractions; Mozart Platz, Residenzplatz, Dome, Getreidegasse, Festung Hohensalzburg, and Mirabellgarten. Third, art contents-oriented city branding such as the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and film ‘The Sound of Music’ has served as a driving force to establish Salzburg as the best cultural city.
