Abstract
Based on the results of an epidemiology report that identifies migratory birds and human migration as the two biggest factors behind HPAI’s propagation and diffusion, this study established HPAI propagation and diffusion networks and analyzed each node’s characteristics. Network analysis has been implemented to provide a basis for institutionalizing separate quarantine policies for nodes (infected farms or livestock facilities, migratory birds) that play an important role in the network in addition to general quarantine. As a result of the analysis of the 2016-17 HPAI propagation and diffusion network, many simple networks consisting of two to three nodes in the network are the cases where propagation and diffusion to surrounding areas are blocked with relatively rapid quarantine activities. This means that the nation’s blocking quarantine is somewhat effective. It is necessary to establish a separate quarantine policy through analysis of areas showing complex networks and related farms to minimize trial and error in similar situations in the future. There are some areas vulnerable to the influx of viruses and others vulnerable to the leak of viruses. In these areas, it is necessary to check the existing blocking prevention situation and find the ways to the prevention policy different from the existing one.
