본 연구는 울산시 도시공간 구조의 특성과 변화를 분석한 것이다. 첫째, 울산시의 전반적인 도시 공간 구조는 지형조건의 제약을 받고 있다. 지형적인 제약에 따라 교통망의 편중이 나타나고, 이로 인하여 지역별 인구 분포상의 차이가 크게 나타나고 있다. 둘째, 울산시는 도시와 농촌의 이원적인 구조를 가지고 있다는 점이다. 1995년 울주군과의 도·농 통합시가 됨으로써 나타난 것으로 타 대도시에 비해 농업지역과 임야 비율이 높으며, 지역 간 격차와 소통의 문제가 제기되고 있다. 셋째, 울산시는 개발제한구역과 산지로 인하여 지역 간 교통 연계망이 부족하며, 도시를 제외한 울주군 읍·면에서는 시가화 지역의 단절이 두드러진다. 마지막으로 울산시의 향후 도시 공간 구조는 고속철도를 비롯한 새로운 도로망의 부설과 고속철도의 역세권 조성, 혁신도시, 오토벨리 등의 새로운 지역개발 사업 등이 추진되고 있기 때문에 중부권, 북부권, 동부권, 남부권, 서부권의 다섯 개 권역으로 발전이 예상된다.
Abstract
This study is to analysis about characteristics and change of urban structure in Ulsan metropolitan city. First, overall urban structure of Ulsan city has been constrained by the geomorphological environment. Because depending on the terrain of the preponderance of the constraints, regional differences in the distribution of the population and transportation has constituted significantly. Second, the Ulsan has a structure in urban and rural areas. In 1995, Ullsan city has been integraged with Ullju-gun, which locate countryside around city. So Ulsan metropolitan city became the agropolitan city. Third, because to be a green belt area and the mountainous areas in the city, Ulsan is lack of the crss-traffic connection between inner and outer regions. In addition to that Ulju-gun has been scattered the built-up areas. Finally, as to construct the new hiterland of railway station, innovation center, auto-valley, and the university of science and technology in the city, the future of Ulsan city will develop the 5 suburban downtown.
