초록

The specialization in college education means increasing the competitiveness in higher education through expanding capacity of education reflecting the specialty and the mission of the university. Expanding the capacity of education is related to the capability of accomplishing the educational goal, developing creative and practical human resources. The specialization of college dance education, therefore, aims to promote creative students who can create new culture understanding and react the changes in society. At the same time, new educational plans for the goals of the specialization of college dance education become critical. The new directions of the specialization of dance education for universities can be summarized in several ways as follows. First, the education of culture-reflection or culture- diagnosis needs to be enhanced. Such an attitude based on humanities is needed to be the primary. Culture-reflection or culture- diagnosis enables students to understand and address social changes. Second, the creative and practical system of education to deal with social change needs to be built. This system is based on the concepts such as Reflection-Acceptance-Creation, Research-Education-Action, School– Home-Community, Understanding-Intensiveness-Applications, and Capacity Building-Self-realization–Social Contribution. Third, the multi-lateral education to bring about culture-creator can be realized through Creation and Sharing, interdisciplinary majors which can practice Relationship and Sharing, and making links between industry and academia. The new directions for the specialization of dance education by expanding the educational demands a new curricular system. The social changes in the 21st century have destroyed the boundaries among the discipline and demand new vocations and social roles finding the “inter” and new boundaries. Accepting such changes means building a new paradigm, in which interdisciplinary majors, linking industry and academia, and system-curricula are extremely pursued in multi-focus.

Abstract

The specialization in college education means increasing the competitiveness in higher education through expanding capacity of education reflecting the specialty and the mission of the university. Expanding the capacity of education is related to the capability of accomplishing the educational goal, developing creative and practical human resources.
