불교문화유산을 활용한 사찰관광 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 -의령 일붕사를 중심으로-

최근 사찰은 불교수행의 고유한 기능에서 벗어나서 문화⋅복지⋅관광 등의 기능이 확대되면서 사찰관광객이 증가하고 있다. 불교문화유산을 통하여 그 지역의 문화, 역사, 정신적인 의미를 배울 수 있기 때문에 사찰관광에 대한 관 심과 수요가 급증한 것이다. 이러한 트렌드에 따라서 본 연구는 일붕사를 연구대상지로 불교문화유산의 관광자원, 일붕 사의 내외부 관광환경, 의령군의 관광실태 등을 분석하여 일붕사의 관광활성화 방안을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 일붕사 및 주변에 산재한 스토리텔링의 적극적 활용, 둘째, 소규모 유사관광자원 간의 연계관광, 셋째, 일붕사의 전국 적인 인지도 제고, 넷째, 관광관련 융복합인프라구축, 다섯째, 관광관련 인적자원 확충, 여섯째, 수요형교통시설 확충, 일곱째 관광객을 위한 다양한 프로그램 도입 등이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
Recently, Temples have expanded beyond their traditional role as centers for Buddhist practice to include cultural, welfare, and tourism functions, leading to an increase in temple visitors. This is because Buddhist cultural heritage allows visitors to learn about the culture, history, and spiritual significance of a region. As a result, interest and demand for temple tourism has been on the sharp rise. This study focuses on Ilbungsa Temple as the research subject, analyzes its Buddhist cultural heritage as a tourism resource, the internal and external tourism environment of Ilbungsa, and the tourism conditions of Uiryeong-gun, and derives strategies for revitalizing tourism at Ilbungsa Temple. The results of this study are as follows, First, Active utilization of storytelling related to Ilbungsa Temple and its surroundings, Second, The development of linked tourism between small-scale similar tourism resources, Third, Enhancement of the nationwide recognition of Ilbungsa Temple, Fourth, Establishment of integrated tourism-related infrastructure, Fifth, Expansion of tourism-related human resources, Sixth, Improvement in demand-based transportation facilities and Seventh, Introduction of a variety of programs for tourists.
