초록

This study examines the aesthetic value of popular culture that is being re-quested in society by exploring street dance culture. street dance aims for an open, changeable body culture. As a subject of popular culture in the global era, street dance culture is crossing virtual and everyday worlds, creating new aesthetic val- ues of popular culture. Through active participation, group dynamics emerge spontaneously in street dance culture. The resonance that occurs during self-directed dance sharing pro- cesses such as dance battles and cyphers implies the individual "self" that exists in conjunction with others, seeking self-realization through self-awareness, rather than a selfish and autocratic existence. The emerging community of popular cul- ture also has a relationship with the group dynamics of street dance culture that recognizes this difference. In this community, each unique "self" that exists hori- zontally seeks to promote community harmony and pursue actions that can create philosophical and aesthetic values. Today's popular culture is a process in which the public becomes the subject thoroughly and the role of consumption and creation is constantly overturned. The aesthetic value of popular culture is not separated from arts and life, but rather embodied consciousness that vividly lives through the act on a bodily level, be- coming the basis for practicality, self-realization through aesthetic experiences in life, and self-creativity that serves as a foundation for aesthetic reasoning.
