『星湖僿說』에 보이는 원류비평 양상(Ⅰ) –「詩文門」의 詩作品을 중심으로–

성호 이익의 백과전서류의 작품인 『성호사설』, 그 중에서도 「시문문」에 대해 원류비평의 측면에서 살펴보았다. 우선 「시문문」에서 언급한 詩人과 서적을 정리했다. 인물로는 孔子로부터 明代 시인까지 포괄적으로 다루었지만, 杜甫와 李白을 필두로 한 唐代 시인이 가장 많았다. 唐代 시인에 대한 성호의 관심을 확인할 수 있었다. 서적과 관련해서는 四書三經은 물론 明代의 서적까지 다양했는데, 자신의 견해를 객관화시키기 위해 고증적 자세를 견지했음을 확인할 수 있다. 성호의 원류비평의 실상을 파악하기 위해 시의 형식적인 측면에 대한 언급들을 살펴보았다. 성호는 古詩, 絶句, 短律 등의 원류를 『詩經』으로 귀결시켰으며, 聯句나 集句 등의 원류에 대해서는 다양한 서적을 통해 자신의 견해를 객관화시켰다. 특히 ‘陽關三疊’과 관련해서는 자신만의 독특한 견해를 제시한 바 있다. 시구나 작품의 원류비평도 이루어졌다. 성호는 두보와 이백을 詩歌의 중심축으로 삼고 이들이 후대 시인에 미친 영향을 반복적으로 거론했다. 또한 두보와 이백의 원류에 대해서도 반복적인 언급을 통해 屈原의 작품과 『시경』으로 귀결시켰다. 성호는 형식적인 측면이나 시구나 작품의 원류를 모두 『시경』에 집중시킨 셈이다. 이는 성호의 두보와 이백 및 『시경』에 대한 관심, 더 나아가 시의 원류로써의 가치를 인정한 것이 된다. 「시문문」에 대해서는 다양한 접근의 창이 열려 있는데, 그러한 논의의 중심에 언제나 『시경』과 굴원, 두보, 이백, 韓愈, 蘇軾이 있음을 감안한다면, 본 논문이 성호의 비평의식의 전모를 재구하는데 충분한 출발점이 될 수 있다고 본다.
Abstract
『Seonghosaseol(星湖僿說)』 made by Seongho Lee-Ik, was encyclopedic. Among them, I considered traditional approach pattern of Chinese criticism about 「Simunmun(詩文門)」. Preferentially, I arranged poets and books in 「Simunmun(詩文門)」. There were inclusively handled from Confucius(孔子) to poets in the Ming(明) Dynasty, but one of them, It was extremely much poets of the Tang(唐) Dynasty, from Du-fu(杜甫) and Lee-bai(李白) down. through this book, I could confirmed that seongho`s concern about the those days. In connection with books, there were various that not only the Seven Chinese Classics the Four Books and the Three Classics(四書三經), but also books of the those days. However, I could confirmed that sticked a historical research to objectification his opinion. I looked into reference about formal thing of poetry that grasped to the actual circumstances of Seongho`s traditional approach pattern of Chinese criticism. Seongho resulted the origin of ancient poems(古詩), line stanza(絶句), character regulated verses(短律) from 『Shisjing(詩經)』. and about the origin a critic consciousness(聯句) and an assembled phrase poem(集句) etc. though diverse books, made by objectification his opinion. Particularly, in connection with ‘Yangguansamchup(陽關三疊)’, he came up with his peculiar opinion. This book was formed the origin criticism of a verse or work. Seongho made Du-fu(杜甫) and Lee-bai(李白) the middle of a poetical composition, they repeatedly made a subject of discussion exerted influence at posterity poet. Also, He was resulted the work of Ch`u-Yuan(屈原) and 『Shijing(詩經)』 though repeated exercises about the origin of Du-fu(杜甫) and Lee-bai(李白). Seongho converged that formal aspect or the origin of verse and work. It was admitted the concern about Du-fu(杜甫), Lee-Bai(李白) and 『Shijing(詩經)』 of Seongho, farther was recognized value of the origin at poem. About 「Simunmun(詩文門)」, I thought variously approach. But, If it took into consideration that at the middle of such discussion, always 『Shijing(詩經)』 and Ch`u-yuan(屈原), Du-Fu(杜甫), Lee-Bai(李白), Han-Yu(韓愈), So-Sik(蘇軾), I thought that this study was reconstructed enough the starting point the full picture of Seongho`s critical consciousness.
