黙思集算法과 九一集에서의 넓이

중국과 조선에서는 농지의 넓이가 세금 징수와 직결되었기에 산서에서는 넓이 문제가 중요한 부분을차지하였다. 그래서 중국과 조선의 산서에서 도형의 넓이를 다룬 부분의 제목에 밭을 의미하는‘田’ 이 포함되어 있고 공통적으로 농지의 넓이 문제로 취급하였다. 조선의 산서는 중국의 산서를참고하였기 때문에 구성형식은 대부분 똑같다. 慶善徵은 黙思集算法에서, 洪正夏는 九一集에서중국의 산서들인 九章算術, 楊輝算法, 算學啓蒙, 詳明算法, 算法統宗을 주로 참고하였다. 그러나풀이 방법을 추가하거나 도형의 형태를 중국의 산서들과 다른 방법으로 해석하는 등의 새로운 방법을모색하기도 하였다. 이 논문의 목적은 두 산서에서 도형의 넓이를 다룬 부분을 중국의 산서들과비교하여 조선의 넓이에 대한 변천사를 밝혀내는 데에 있다.
Abstract
In China and Joseon, the measurement of the areas of various plane figures is avery important subject for mathematical officials because it is connected directlywith tax problems. Most of mathematical texts in China and Joseon contained Chinesecharacter ‘田’, which means a field for farming, in title name for parts thatdealt with problems of areas and treated as areas of plane figures. The form ofmathematical texts in Joseon is identical with those in China because mathematiciansin Joseon referred to texts in China. Gyeong SeonJing and Hong JeongHa alsoreferred to Chinese texts. But they added their interpretations or investigated newmethods for the measurement of areas. In this paper, we investigate the history ofthe measurement of areas in Joseon, which described in two books MukSaJibSan-Beob and GuIlJib, with comparing some mathematical texts in China.
