간찰과 야담을 통해 본 지방양반과 재경사족의 교류 양상: 김수종과 박태관의 사례를 중심으로

Abstract

This thesis aims to examine the aspect of exchanges from father to son between provincial noblemen and literati in Seoul through unofficial historical stories and letters. By intensively analyzing the letters exchanged between literati in Seoul and members of Buan Kim's Clan who resided in Woobandong of Buan-hyeon, Jeolla-do for generations, this study examines which tie or opportunity was used for achieving this network, what was given and taken to be developed into a close relationship, and the symbolic/semantic meanings of those exchanged objects. Also, this study aims to examine the cause for cutting off this relationship, and the opportunity to recover the relationship afterwards. Moreover, this study aims to reveal the relational network between provincial noblemen and literati in Seoul through unofficial historical stories. By examining how the realistic text of letter could be represented in the literary text of unofficial historical stories, it would be possible to verify the social/ historical liveliness between provincial noblemen and literati in Seoul during the late Joseon dynasty. Examining such unofficial historical stories, little stories, and personal collections of works focusing on the historical facts revealed in letters could be a part of efforts for more concretely and vividly understanding the society in the late Joseon Dynasty through the interdisciplinary research.
