본 연구는 타이 사회에서 일반적으로 알려진 무에타이 영웅설화의 이념 특성을 분석하여 무에타이가올림픽 정식종목으로 채택되기에 앞서 올림픽 이념과 상반되는 지점을 찾는다는 연구목적은 다음과 같다. 무에타이 영웅설화와 올림픽 이념의 특성을 파악하기 위해 국내외 문헌자료를 수집하여 고찰법과 내용분석법을 실시하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무에타이 영웅설화에는 군주주의, 민족주의가내재되었다. 둘째, 영웅설화에 대치되는 올림픽 이념은 여섯 가지가 해당했으며, 그 가운데 군주주의는다섯 번째 올림픽 이념과 민족주의는 두 번째 올림픽 이념과의 대치가 두드러졌다. 셋째, 올림픽 이념 실천을 위한 방안으로 각 이념과 대치되는 올림픽 이념의 가치를 실천하기 위한 구체적 계획을 제시했다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the ideological characteristics of the Muaythai hero-tale, which is commonly known in Thailand society, to find a point that contradicts the Olympism before Muaythai is adopted as an Olympic sport. In order to understand the characteristics of Muaythai hero-tale and Olympism, domestic and foreign literature data were collected and a review method and a content analysis method were conducted. The conclusion of this study is as follow. First, monarchism and nationalism were inherent in Muaythai hero-tale. Second, there were six Olympism as opposed to hero-tale, and among them, monarchism was marked by the fifth part of Olympism and nationalism was marked by the second part of Olympism. Third, as a way to practice Olympism, the specific plans were presented to implement the values of the second, fifth, and sixth parts of Olympism, which are contrary to each ideology.
