Abstract
Creativity is an important capability not only for future talent but also for everyone living their daily lives. Until now, culture and arts education has played a role in helping anyone exercise crea- tivity in their lives through continuous expansion. However, as art education was centered on process and experience, art-appreciation education was relatively lacking in discussion and practice. Recent neuroscience studies prove that appreciation of art is not just a acquisition of knowledge and visual information, but a creative process. Art-appreciation is a process in which viewers' perception and emotions participate, and it is being re-created in a personal way. In this regard, a shift of per- spective on appreciation education is needed. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the definition, ne- cessity, process of art-appreciation education and to practice it in educational way. The study aims to seek art-appreciation education led by participants and expressed by partic- ipants' creativity. To that end, describes the definitions, attributes, brain processing, models of neu- roscience, and the insights and implications they give. Based on this, the direction of art-apprecia- tion education and the factors to be applied in the education program were considered. Neuroscience studies report that participants in the art-appreciation experience deal with visual information in all areas of the brain by combining personal and contextual characteristics, including their own existing experiences, resulting in their own unique emotional responses and aesthetic evaluations. The model of art-appreciation education is divided into participants' appreciation experience and education support that promotes it. Participants' appreciation experience encompasses a series of cognitive processing processes, such as preparation for appreciation, appreciation, and completion of appreciation. Therefore, we would like to propose that each course should require appropriate par- ticipant experience and educational support to facilitate it.
