LLM 기반의 ChatGPT 3.5 출시 이후 생성형 AI가 급속히 확산되었고 이제 누구나 프롬프트를 통해 영상 제작이 가능하게 되었다. 그리고 영상이 사회의 주요 커뮤니케이션 도구가 됨에 따라 생성형 AI를 이용한 영 상제작 또한 급증하고 있고 학교에서의 교육도 예측된다. 그런데 아직까지는 개별 숏(shot) 중심의 영상을 생성하는 데에 그쳐 의도한 결과를 얻기 위해서는 실사 촬영보다 더 많은 부분을 창작자가 고려하고 조율해야 한다. 뿐만 아니라 생성형 AI는 프롬프트 내용과 방식 에 따라 결과가 상이하고 우연성에 기인하는 경향도 강하다. 따라서 영상제작을 위한 생성형 AI 도구들의 종 류와 사용법을 습득하는 것도 중요하지만 산업적 효용성을 위해 연속성과 몰입감을 높이는 방향으로의 발전이 필요하다. 뿐만 아니라 영상산업에서 요구되는 미래인재들은 이에 대응하는 영상문법과 기술, 프롬프트 엔지니 어링에 대한 이해와 교육을 습득해야 한다. 이에 본고에서는 생성형 AI를 활용하는 영상제작의 산업적 효용성을 높이기 위해서는 영상제작을 가능하게 하는 생성형 AI에 대한 이해와 프롬프트 엔지니어링에 대한 지식이 중요하다고 판단하여 살펴보았다. 이를 통 해 향후 유관 연구가 지속되어 효과적이고 체계적인 생성형 AI 영상제작이 확산되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
Since the release of ChatGPT-3.5, which is based on large language models(LLM), generative AI has rapidly proliferated, enabling anyone to create videos through prompts. Furthermore, as video has emerged as a primary means of communication in society, there has been a rapid increase in video production utilizing Generative AI, with its integration into educational curricula also anticipated. However, current methodologies are limited to generating individual shots, requiring creators to consider and coordinate a greater number of factors than traditional live-action filming in order to achieve the intended outcome. Moreover, Generative AI tends to produce varying results depending on the content and approach of the prompts, often exhibiting considerable randomness. Thus, while mastering the various Generative AI tools and their applications in video production is important, it is equally crucial to advance these tools in ways that enhance continuity and immersion for greater industrial efficacy. In addition, future professionals in the video industry must acquire a comprehensive understanding of video grammar, production techniques, and prompt engineering. Accordingly, this paper examines in detail the significance of understanding the Generative AI that enables video production and the pivotal role of prompt engineering in enhancing its industrial utility. It is anticipated that further related research will facilitate the widespread adoption of effec- tive and systematic video production using Generative AI.
