초록

This study discussed immigrant women’s identities through their literacy practices with post-structuralism. This research employed qualitative methods. Seven first generation immigrant women from South Korea were interviewed. This research showed Korean immigrant women’s identities have not been limited to the time and space that they live in. Through Korean literacy practices, Korean immigrant women negotiated their identities and coped with their new circumstances. For Korean immigrant women who have limited skills in English, Korean literacy practices worked as individual achievement and self-empowerment in their social lives.
