본 논문의 목적은 크로산이 역사적 예수의 탐구에 사용한 ‘방법론’을 분석하는 것이다. 본 논문이 역사적 예수의 모습보다 방법론에 치중하는 이유는 두 가지이다. 하나는, 크로산이 사용하는 방법론을 분석함으로써 그가 재현한 ‘예수’를 파악할 수 있는 토대를 알 수 있다. 둘째는, 방법론의 적용과 역사적 예수의 재현이 어떤 관계가 있는지를 알 수 있다. 크로산은 '삼중 교차적 과정'(a triple triadic process)을 거치는 방법론을 사용한다. 세 가지 차원의 연구에 따른 결과를 ‘교차적’으로 종합한다는 의미이다. 세 가지 차원의 연구는 인류학적 연구, 역사학적 연구, 문헌학적 연구이다. 즉 크로산이 인류학적 연구, 역사학적 연구, 문헌학적 연구의 결과들을 함께 교차적으로 받아들이는 방법론을 사용한다는 뜻이다. 삼중교차적 방법이 성공적이기 위해서는 각 차원의 연구가 상호 균등하고 조화있게 교차해야 한다. 본 논문은 각 차원의 교차가 얼마나 잘 이루어지는지를 분석하고 평가하는 것에 초점을 기울일 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze Crossan's methodology which is used in reconstruction of the historical Jesus. The reasons that this article concentrates on the methodology are as follows. Firstly, we can recognize the ground of 'Jesus' who is pictured in the theology of Crossan by analyzing the methodology. Secondly, we can understand the relationship between the methodology and the figure of the historical Jesus. Besides, while we will know the important points, we will reveal the weak points in the methodology for the studies of the historical Jesus. The main body of this article consists of five chapters. Chapter one will deal with the methodology itself. Chapter two to five will see how the methodology is used in major subjects of Crossan's theology: the identity of peasant-artisan class(chapter two), miracles and open commensality(chapter three), life style of Jesus(chapter four), death and burial(chapter five). Lastly, the conclusion chapter will evaluate the methodology and its use in major subjects.
