‘인간 자연’과 하나의 과학: 가치와 사실의 경계 허물기

우리의 학문이 적실성을 결여하게 된 이유는 우리의 무능력이나나태함이라기보다는 우리가 우리도 모르는 사이에 빠져있는 함정 때문이라고 본다. 본 논문에서는 그 함정을 ‘우리는 남’이라고 이름 한다. 이는 사실 서구의 근대전통이 일궈온 ‘개인주의’ 혹은 ‘개체주의’라 번역되는 ‘individualism’의 근저에 있는 생각과 다를 것이 없다. 다만 여기서는 그 ‘individualism’이 선택 가능한 여러 가치 중의 하나가 아니라 ‘비사실(non reality 혹은 virtual reality)’임을 밝히고 진짜 사실(real reality)은 ‘우리는 하나’라는 주장을 편다. 이와 같은 진짜 사실 개념 즉 ‘우리는 하나’를 기초로 하면 자연과학이 자연의 사실을 다루는 것처럼 인문학은 ‘인간 자연’의 사실을 다루는 과학이될 수 있고, 사회과학은 ‘사회 자연’의 사실을 다루는 과학이 되어서자연과학, 인문과학, 사회과학이 모두 과학으로서 자연스럽게 통섭학으로 수렴되어 인류의 행복에 기여할 것이라는 결론을 내린다.MTA%3D
Abstract
It is argued that we are bound to be self-contradictory when we choose to live in an individualistic society because individuals are indivisible. In order to support the argument, two new concepts, ‘we-are-oneness’ and ‘we-are-otherness’ are introduced. It is in turn shown that we are not free to choose among them because we are not making a value judgement between the two preferences. ‘We-are-otherness’ is proved to be factually groundless while ‘we-are-oneness’ is ascertained to be buttressed by abundant factual underpinnings. This concludes that if we agree on the factuality of ‘we-are-oneness’ and thus non-reality of ‘we-are-otherness,’we are able to achieve One science across all disciplines including human sciences (or humanics), which is not different from achieving disciplinary consilience.jsj6347
