본 연구에서는 한국 건설업에서 근무하는 외국인 근로자들의 안전문화, 안전의식, 그리고 안전참여행동 간의 상호 연관성을 파악함으로써, 안전의식의 매개 효과와 연령의 조절 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 안전문화의 핵심 요소인 의사소통, 교육 및 제도, 작업환경이 안전의식 및 안전참여행동과 강력한 상관관계를 보였다. 특히 의사소통과 교육 및 제도가 안전의식을 통해 안전참여행동에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 이는 건설 현장에서 해당 요소들의 강화가 안전한 작업 환경 조성에 필수적임을 시사한다. 이와 함께, 의사소통과 작업환경의 향상이 안전의식을 매개로 안전참여행동을 촉진하는 중요한 경로로 작용함을 확인하였다. 이 결과는 안전 관리 개선을 위한 효과적인 접근법으로서 의사소통 개선과 작업환경의 질적 향상의 필요성을 강조한다. 또한, 연령에 따른 조절 효과 분석에서는 50대 근로자 그룹에서 의사소통의 중요성이 특히 강조되었으며, 이는 안전의식과 안전참여행동 간의 강한 연관성을 보여준다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the interrelationships among safety culture, safety consciousness, and safety participation behavior of foreign workers in the South Korean construction industry. The results indicate that key elements of safety culture, including communication, education and systems, and the working environment, show strong correlations with both safety consciousness and safety participation behavior. These findings underscore the necessity of improving communication and the quality of the working environment as effective approaches to safety management. Furthermore, the analysis of the moderating effect of age revealed that the importance of communication is particularly emphasized in the group of workers in their 50s, demonstrating a strong association between safety consciousness and safety participation behavior.
